IHS Travel Grants to IHC 2019, Dublin, Ireland

Apply now for a travel grant to IHC 2019

Eligibility: Currently an under- or post-graduate student (including but not limited to medical students and PhD students) or a medical doctor training to become a specialist. For medical doctors alternatively within 3 years of obtaining medical doctorate or academic post graduate degree or specialist certification, whichever was obtained latest. For other academic groups alternatively within 6 years of obtaining latest academic degree

Short-stay scholarships peri-IHC

3 short-stay scholarships are available for young physicians from developing countries to attend the IHC in Dublin, Ireland (September 2019) and visit one of three major headache centres in the UK for up to 6 weeks

Eligibility: Currently an under- or post-graduate student (including but not limited to medical students and PhD students) or a medical doctor training to become a specialist. For medical doctors alternatively within 3 years of obtaining medical doctorate or academic post graduate degree or specialist certification, whichever was obtained latest. For other academic groups alternatively within 6 years of obtaining latest academic degree

Award value: Eur 6,000

Headache Trainee Programme

IHS is offering a Headache Trainee Programme to a young physician from a developing country to work at a major headache centre of choice for up to 12 weeks

Eligibility: Within 7 years from completion of their neurology training, who are resident in any of the Hinari countries

Award value: US$ 10,000

IHS Research Awards 2019 - Call for Proposals

IHS is accepting research applications for scientific projects (any kind of research acceptable) that further the mission and goals of the Society

Funding up to € 150,000 will be allocated to support between one and three research projects

Preference will be given to projects that involve collaborations amongst investigators from multiple institutions and countries

• Applicants must be members of IHS
• Research project must be completed within 24 months

The applications will be reviewed by a committee elected by the IHS Board. After acceptance, applicants will be asked for a more detailed research plan

IHS Visiting Professors

The aim of the Visiting Professor initiative is to send headache specialists as representatives of IHS to attend regional meetings, or teach at a headache centre, in countries that might need or want increased headache education and motivation and where, without financial support, attendance of an international specialist would not be possible

IHS will fund two headache specialists to teach at a national or regional meeting/congress. The host country can select topics and suggest at least three specialists who will fit in with their programme. The engagement should comprise at least two lectures and one course/workshop by each specialist. The final decision on the choice of specialists will be made by  the IHS Education Committee

Funding up to US$ 5,000 will be allocated per meeting

Non-IHS Awards

The Migraine Research Foundation, a US nonprofit that raises money to fund innovative migraine research, invites both US and international researchers to submit Letters of Interest for one or both of the two 2019 topics:
Topic 1: Submit a letter of interest for a project that will add to the understanding or improve the treatment of Childhood Migraine.
Topic 2: Submit a letter of interest for a project that will add to the understanding of the Therapeutic Potential of a New Treatment Target for Migraine (other than CGRP).
